Dan Jucikas Celebrates 30 Years In The Information Technology Field

2008 is a milestone for Stow business owner Dan Jucikas as he celebrates his 30th year in the Information Technology field. Dan graduated from the Institute of Computer Management on April 28, 1978 and started his first job as a computer operator on May 1, 1978. Since that first job, Dan moved quickly up the ladder with several area companies. Within one year, Dan moved from computer operator to programmer. Six months later, he became a lead programmer and by the end of that year was promoted to Systems Analyst. In early 1981, Dan accepted a position as a computer consultant and began helping small companies computerize in the exploding business computer era of the 1980’s. In 1983 Dan was offered a position as Data Processing Manager from one of his clients which he accepted. Dan served in that role for two local companies until 1992 when he decided it was time to take control of his own destiny. In 1992, Dan formed Jucikas Computer Services, Inc., a computer consulting company. JCSi as they are more commonly known has become one of the area’s leading computer companies serving area businesses, residents, churches and schools. JCSi is proudly celebrating their 16th Anniversary this year.
Through the years, Dan has seen a lot of changes in the Information Technology field. Computer Systems that used to take up entire rooms now take up no more space than the top of a small desk. And, the costs have come down from several hundred thousand dollars to several hundred dollars. Dan feels he got into the computer field just as it was starting to explode, when computers were just becoming affordable for small businesses. Today, a new computer system is less expensive than a new LCD TV, so you’ll find one just about everywhere and being used by just about everyone. Dan is also ready for the challenges of the future. As computers get smaller and the internet becomes an even more important part of everyday life Dan and his company look forward to serving the needs of the businesses and residents of Stow and the surrounding area.
